Tina Caspary

Spotlight Youth Theatre welcomes Tina Caspary as Choreographer for the advanced performance troupe program, The Rhythm Experience, in the 2018-2019 season. Last season, Tina choreographed Spotlight’s critically acclaimed production of Cabaret, for which she won both National Youth Arts and ariZoni awards.

Tina grew up in the Southern California dance scene, and has worked in every facet of the entertainment industry. Her career as a dancer, actor and instructor has been varied and fulfilling. Her work has included appearances with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Reba McEntire, and for five years, she was a principal dancer on the Academy Awards under the tutelage of Debbie Allen.

Tina was a featured actress in four motion pictures: My Mom’s a Werewolf, Mac & Me, Teen Witch, and Can’t Buy Me Love, as well as many made-for-television movies such as News at Eleven, Combat High, and the TV sitcoms Silver Spoons, Married with Children, and Growing Pains. She has also appeared in countless TV commercials and industrials.

Tina owned her own dance studio, Studio C, in Downey, California for ten years. She trained many of today’s premier dancers and choreographers, before spending the last 18 years as a traveling choreographer. During this time she started her own line of quality, dance inspired activewear, Ktrna, for which she is President and Chief Designer. She tours with the dance company Radix, which teaches workshops, runs dance competition, and awards scholarships.

Tina is also the proud mother of two awesome kiddos who have made the Spotlight stage shine brighter in several productions.
